Effective: June 10, 2026 | Last updated: September 2, 2026 | Version v1.1
In one line: Imprint keeps all of your content on your own device and in your own iCloud. There is no account system. We do not collect your events, diary, to-dos, meal plans or other personal content, we do not run analytics, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your data with any third party.
This Privacy Policy explains how Imprint (the “App”) handles information relating to you. The App is developed and operated by the Imprint developer (reanote) (“we”, “us”, or the “Developer”). Please read it carefully before using the App. By downloading, installing or using the App, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy. This Policy applies together with our Terms of Service.
1. Core principles
Imprint is designed as a local-first app. This means:
LocalContent you create stays on your device by default.
Your iCloudIf you are signed in to iCloud with sync enabled, your content syncs between your own devices through Apple’s iCloud Private Database (CloudKit). That data sits under your Apple Account, and we cannot read, access or export it.
No profilingWe do not build user profiles, do not track behavior, and do not serve personalized ads.
2. Where your data is stored
All personal content you create in Imprint — including but not limited to events, reminders, diary entries, to-do lists, meal plans, lunar/holiday annotations, and in-app preferences — is stored in:
Your device, locally; and
Your iCloud Private Database (only if you enable iCloud sync), hosted and encrypted by Apple under your Apple Account and governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
In addition, to display information in home-screen widgets, the App caches a small amount of necessary data (such as today’s to-dos, recent diary previews, and meal plans) in your device’s App Group container. This cache exists only on your device and is never uploaded to us.
We never receive this content. Because the data above is never sent to our servers, we can neither see it nor recover it for you. See Section 8 for backup and deletion.
3. What we do not collect
To avoid any misunderstanding, the App expressly does not:
require account registration, or collect your phone number, email, name or identity information (except when you choose to email us, see Section 14);
integrate any third-party analytics, statistics, crash-reporting, advertising or marketing SDK;
collect the device advertising identifier (IDFA), or perform cross-app / cross-site tracking;
sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.
The App’s bundled Apple Privacy Manifest declares: no tracking, no collected data types, and no third-party tracking domains.
4. Features that use the network
Most of Imprint works fully offline. The few features below make network requests, disclosed here in full:
4.1 Holiday / solar-term data updates
To keep statutory holidays and make-up workday arrangements accurate, the App fetches public, static holiday data files (JSON organized by year) from our server. This request contains none of your personal content. Like any web server, our server (and its hosting/CDN providers) may record standard access logs when handling the request, such as IP address, request time, and the general type of device and system. These logs are used solely to keep the service available, protect against abuse, and troubleshoot; we do not use them to identify you or build a profile, and we clear them after a reasonable period. Our server is located in mainland China.
4.2 Meal-plan link import (user-initiated)
When you paste a URL to import a meal plan, your device requests and parses that page directly from the third-party site you provided. That third-party site receives a request from your device, and its handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive or store content from this process. Import only from sources you trust.
4.3 QR sharing and scanning
Meal-plan QR generation, parsing and import happen on your device. The QR code uses an HTTPS landing link on our domain so that the system or WeChat can recognize it and open the App. Meal-plan content is stored only in the URL # fragment, which browsers do not send to our server in an HTTP request. Opening the landing page creates an ordinary web request and the standard access logs described in Section 4.1, but neither the request nor those logs contain the meal-plan content. We do not receive or store the shared meal plan.
Almanac sharing uses the same kind of HTTPS landing link and includes only the Gregorian date you chose to share as a URL parameter. It contains no diary, schedule, meal-plan, or other personal content. When the landing page is opened, that date may appear with the ordinary request in standard access logs; those logs are still handled only for the purposes described in Section 4.1 and are not used to identify or profile you.
5. Device permissions
The App requests the following permissions only when you use the corresponding feature. You can review or revoke them at any time in iOS Settings › Imprint; revoking may disable a feature but does not affect the rest.

6. iCloud and Apple
Cross-device sync is provided by Apple’s iCloud and depends on your system settings and Apple Account. Data synced via iCloud is stored and processed by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy and iCloud terms. We make no warranty as to Apple’s service availability, sync timeliness, or data retention, and we cannot access your iCloud data on your behalf.
7. Local notifications
All reminders and notifications are scheduled and fired locally on your device, not delivered through our servers or any push service, so your reminder content is not uploaded to the cloud. Note that the actual delivery and timing of local notifications depend on device state, system settings, Low Power Mode, Focus modes and similar factors, and should not be your only reminder for critical matters (such as medication, medical, or safety needs). See the related disclaimer in our Terms of Service.
8. Retention and deletion
Because your content lives on your own device and iCloud, you have direct control over it:
Delete a single item: remove the event, diary entry, to-do or meal plan directly in the App.
Erase all data: use “Erase All Data” in the App’s settings to delete the App’s content on the device and its App Group cache.
Uninstall: uninstalling removes the App’s on-device data; however, copies already synced to iCloud may remain. You can manage or delete them in iOS Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Please keep your own backups. Since the data is held by you and Apple, we cannot recover data lost due to a lost device, accidental deletion, system failure, or iCloud issues. We recommend backing up important content regularly via iCloud or export.
9. Children and minors
The App is intended for users aged 14 and above; children under 14 must have the consent of a parent or guardian and use the App under their guidance and supervision. The App is not directed at collecting children’s personal information and does not knowingly solicit it. If, as a parent or guardian, you enter information about your child (for example a child’s kindergarten meal plan or schedule), that information is likewise stored only on your device and iCloud and managed by you at your responsibility. If you believe a child under 14 has provided us personal information without guardian consent, contact us via Section 14.
10. Your rights
Under the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and other applicable laws, you have rights to be informed about, access, copy, correct, delete and withdraw your personal information. Because of Imprint’s local-first design, you can usually exercise these rights directly in the App (view, edit, export or delete your content) without going through us. If you need help or have questions about this Policy, contact us via Section 14, and we will verify and respond within the period required by law.
11. Data security
We rely on system-level security provided by the Apple platform (including device encryption, sandboxing, and iCloud transport/storage encryption) to protect your data. We also encourage you to set a device passcode, enable two-factor authentication, and keep your system updated. Please understand that no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for security incidents beyond our reasonable control.
12. Third-party links and content
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example a URL you provide to import a meal plan, related documents, or feedback channels). These third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, conduct, or privacy practices. Use your own judgment before clicking.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Policy due to feature updates or legal requirements. Revised versions will update the “Last updated” date at the top and be posted on this page; for material changes we will notify you via an in-app notice or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, please stop using the App and delete your data per Section 8.
14. Contact us
